Professor Abdul Ghani Razaqpur is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE), and the Engineering Institute of Canada. He has held key leadership roles, including CSCE President and Chair of Civil Engineering at Carleton and McMaster Universities. Until his retirement in 2023, he was a Chair Professor at Nankai University under China’s National 1000 Talent Program. He has received prestigious awards, including CSCE’s A.B. Sanderson Award, the Canadian Standards Association Award of Merit, and China’s People Friendship Award. Recognized among Stanford’s top 2% of researchers, his expertise covers structural mechanics, FRP-reinforced structures, blast resistance, and sustainable construction materials. He has contributed to Canadian design standards and served as an editor for leading journals, including Cement and Concrete Composites and Journal of Protective Structures. His research combines experimental and numerical approaches to advance civil engineering knowledge.
